About Stacey

Born and raised in Cairns, QLD, Australia, Stacey began her musical education at the age of six with piano lessons.   As well as studying piano, Stacey also took up alto saxophone during her high school years and enjoyed playing in school jazz bands, concert bands and small wind ensembles.  It was during her senior years of high school that Stacey began teaching a handful of beginner piano students and she has been teaching ever since.

After finishing high school, Stacey relocated to Brisbane, QLD to study a Bachelor of Music at the QLD Conservatorium of Music (Griffith University) where she majored in classical piano performance.  This degree including subjects covering piano performance, accompaniment and pedagogy (teaching).  During this time Stacey also completed her AmusA Diploma through the Australian Music Education Board (A.M.E.B).

Stacey furthered her studies with a Bachelor of Education (Grad. Entry) at the University of QLD where she majored in primary and secondary classroom music teaching.   In 2022, Stacey completed a Masters of Specialist Inclusive Education.   Currently, Stacey works as an Arts classroom teacher at a local primary school.

Stacey has a great deal of experience working with beginner students through to those more advanced and she is happy to teach most musical genres.  She encourages her students to sit for piano exams when they are ready and also covers music theory within her lessons.

As a teacher, Stacey is fun, creative, passionate and confident.  She understands that no two students are the same and tailors each child's learning journey to suit their individual needs.
